The designated trailhead is located just north of downtown Gaylord on Fairview Road right across from the Soccer complex where parking is available. The view along the trail will take you from farmland to forest and beautiful country views.
The trail is 61 miles long and surfaced with a compacted crushed limestone; the same surface used on other Michigan trails including the Kal-Haven Sesquicentennial Trail, Paint Creek Trail, and within Mackinaw City.
A tip from some recent riders: Riding from Vanderbilt to Gaylord is up grade and from Gaylord to Vanderbilt is down grade.
